Dr. Renae Welke earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in 2011, where she graduated with Clinical and Academic Honors and was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. She subsequently completed a residency in Primary Care Optometry at Salus University, with advanced training in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease.
Dr. Welke is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and a member of both the American Optometric Association and the South Dakota Optometric Association.
Her clinical interests include the management of chronic ocular conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration. She has extensive experience in ocular disease, urgent eye care, and co-management of surgical cases. In addition, Dr. Welke provides low vision and vision therapy services to patients with functional vision deficits.
A lifelong resident of the Black Hills, Dr. Welke is committed to delivering full-scope, evidence-based optometric care to her community. She is currently accepting new patients of all ages.
